Joshua Ryan Hutcherson born October 12, is an American actor and producer. Hutcherson began his acting career in the early s and appeared in several commercials and minor film and television roles before landing his first major role in in the pilot episode of House Blend. During the same period he also played a lead role in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island and a voice role in the animated film Epic Throughout his career, Hutcherson has expressed an interest in directing and producing. He has served as an executive producer in Detention , The Forger and Escobar: Paradise Lost , while also playing a lead role in each film. He is also heavily involved in the gay—straight alliance chapter called "Straight But Not Narrow".
