They value femininity, motherhood, and masculinity in men. Right now, my husband is in his third and final year of an extremely draining and stressful fellowship. It's not fair to put words in her mouth and thoughts in her brain like this. I have observed in relationships among friends and family inside and outside of the church that holding a temple recommend does not guarantee a strong, happy marriage.
Thanks for sharing your experiences. I would not want my children raised Mormon which she seems intent on. A quiet, hard working immigrant but dedicated and faithful. If you think your girlfriend's resistance to being exposed to anything critical of Mormonism sounds cult-like, you are right. He spends about 80 hours a week at the hospital. Communication is at an all time low and stress is at an all time high. Mormons defintely play by a different rule set. Tell her that you want your relationship with her, and her relationship with your children together to be separate from her religion with her god.
